    Wiring auto to wolf ECU

Looks like fun! I am not a wolf expert, (more like a wolf in sheep's clothing...) That "low side driver" I assume means it goes low when true. So 1Amp implies a relay is required? Is that an output that would normally go TO a gearbox to say "Go into overdrive"? Or is it an output that goes...

    Wiring auto to wolf ECU

Hi again Russ. Not sure if I answered your question... What gearbox controller are you using? The overdrive solenoid in the gearbox has a 12volt feed from ignition. Same as the shift "feel" solenoid (line pressure). The ECT grounds the solenoid for lockup. The 2 shift solenoids, (1 nd 2) are...

    Wiring auto to wolf ECU

Hi Russ. Not sure of the wiring of the OD off light. I do know that the ECT (standard crown) controls the light because it can flash it for ECT error codes. On my Crown the hall effect sensor (rear one held in by the knurled nut) wiring goes to the speedo. If I remove it from the gearbox and...

    Wiring auto to wolf ECU

Hi Russ. Re the O/D switch: The switch on the gear lever does switch the OD signal from pin 20 of the bigger plug on the ECT to ground. There is a direct wire from the ECT plug to the connector at the shifter (Black/red). But it operates "backwards" in that switched to ground is OD off. OD ON...

1989 Crown Air Flow Meter issue?

Just another update. Paypal sorted it out. Got my money back. (not the freight though). Still have the new part. Must try to test it one day, in a car it's designed to work in... (Not a Crown obviously!)

    87 4Runner 1UZ swap, get comfy

That's sad. Still, you are making great progress. As Zufen said, feels good when it starts AND drives! Hopefully that O ring is an easy fix.

1989 Crown Air Flow Meter issue?

So... Bought a new AFM. None of the correct models available in Australia or New Zealand. Next best option is to buy one from China (yes, I know). For the interested, it is part number 22204-42011 - well so the box says, there being no part number on the unit (surprise, surprise). I...

Seller Feedback Warning: Do not buy parts from EBay seller Cool-Angel (Tom), from Hong Kong

Late reply I know, but stil relevant. (Maybe more so now with the Virus forcing us to buy parts unseen and from anywhere). Does this forum have an area where we can list dodgy companies and have them blackbanned (or asked to "Please explain"?)

    a341e shifter with boot.

You could try going the hot rod route. Plenty of aftermarket auto shifters that look like an original 30' 40's etc shifter.

A doozy: 2UZ transmission going haywire... Until scan tool plugged in.

When you plg the scan tool in, does that put the ECU into some king of test mode, or diagnostic mode? Or, is the scan tool grounding something that isn't when the tool is disconnected?

    1UZ UCF20 runs horribly rich

Just a minor point: Is the AFM the correct one for the ECU you have?

mx83 1uz swap starts no idle

First suggestion? Watch Groverman's video above! Learn that there are many reasons an engine will stop. In his case a seemingly unrelated fault was causing the fail safe systems to cut the fuel, even though it was an ignition fault. Do you have the diagnostic plug and check engine light...

    1UZ into MB 190E

Geez Rod! Everytime log on, you're doing something new, and radical! Thought of writing a book? (Although I reckon you wouldn't have time). Jeff

1989 Crown Air Flow Meter issue?

Hi Rod. As near as I can determine (so far) the 22204-42010 was used on 91 - 95 LS400, sc300 and sc400. Also 86 - 92 Supra Turbo (7mgTe). Some people say the 22204-42010 is for the turbo Supra, the 22204-42011 is for the NA version. There's a lot of conflicting info re the 22204-42011 being a...

Wanted WANTED: Crown (etc) Air Flow Meter. 22204-42010

Chasing a 1989 Crown Air Flow Meter, part number 22204-42010. Preferably in Australia. The same part was also used on other Toyota cars around the 1990's. Anyone got one they can spare, or maybe surplus to your needs? Thanks all.

1989 Crown Air Flow Meter issue?

Update for anyone watching...... AFM's (Part number 22204 - 42010 as used in my Crown) although used on quite a few Toyotas, seem to be scarce? There ARE new one available from China, but do they work? Part number 22204 - 42011 comes up sometimes as an alternate, byt the construction of that...
