A faulty injector could be fouling the spark plug or possibly one valve has a tight clearance and when it warms up the valve gets left open??? Possibly an idea to check valve clearance..

Pwm box has the line pressure cable going too it.

To get close to 400 hp nat aspirated will require lots of revs. I dont believe the rods are up to that sort of rpm. As for valve clearance, a dummy assembly and plasticine will tell you about valve clearance. Shouldnt be an issue if valve springs are good and not too bigger lift cams.

16 psi. Did it for a while though.

Here is what happend to mine

Bolts arnt the problem, its the rod itself, just near the big end. I learnt the hard way. Your heading into the stage where it snow balls. If you dont change rods you could stuff a set of heads that may owe ya a grand. To do that out comes the pistons. And so it goes on..... The 98 motor is...

Rpm will be your killer of rods. Do you plan on boosting it

Sounds possible. I dont know much about the internals. Still learning. The trans oil goes dark color when burnt. The type 4 stuff wont be a lot different to normal trans oil.

Sound like there is an issue inside the trans or torque convertor. Possibly why it was taken off the road. I would be really suprised if many parts from the 5 speed woud fit in the 4 speed. Try and find a replacement trans. Cheers Kris

What switches your trans soinoids? Check and make sure the solinoids have the correct power input for the selected gear. Do you have a trans cooler? Sounds Like the torque convertor seal is bad, possibly from over heating. Was the oil in the trans pan dark red and smelt burn twhen you droped...

Ive used ali bright, which is Hydrofluric acid. Its a bit ruff on hands though..

Any rust you have on bolts ect will just come back again if not painted or coated with a clear. As prev mentioned, repace clams bolts with newies if you want the clean look. You will need to pull some covers and bits off to clean it properly. There is no easy way. Time, elbo grease, de greaser...
