You haven't overlooked a custom bellhousing have you?

I know it's been done a few times into similar cars. I was curious on fitment issues that were encountered with the UZ in the engine bay? Is there going to be room for a semi-large turbo later? Any radiator/fan issues with this particular swap? Does anyone have any completed conversion pictures...

I would rather have a Dodge 3/4 ton (diesel) personally. You're looking at around 30K for 265 horse/ 500 ft lbs of torque. On top of that, you get a constant 18-20 miles per gallon with it dipping to around 15-17 when towing. Hard to beat at any level.

Talk about built! That thing sure has a roomy engine bay.

Keep in mind that isn't a UZ engine, it's a V6.

The 5.7 liter you mean? It's in the new 2007 Tundra's. I bet if it was mated to a 5-speed standard, it would be nice, but it feels really slow for 381/401 with the current transmission.

I drove the 2007 Tundra the other day. I was thoroughly unimpressed actually. I don't think it's putting down anywhere near 350 to the wheels. At most, 250-280. I think that some transmission work would be needed before touching the rest of the powertrain.

Which bellhousing design, the U1 or U2?

Maybe I'm just stupid, but can you tell me why the PowerGlide transmissions are so good? Are they that efficient at putting power to the wheels?

How close are we to having an assembled package? I'm itching to get this together.
