Before you give them any $$s, you many want to read up on some bad experiences people have had with them over on Toymods.

Im going to use the latter high-compression non-vvti engine from a LS400 (if i can find one). Did you know that Adelaide Jap have a 1UZ VVTI halfcut for cheap? Im not going VVTI because of the issues with the encoded keys.

Thats very reassuring to hear, thanks. Ive never seen other cars emissions numbers, or known what good or bad levels are, so i didnt know if those numbers would be tough targets to meet or not. Awesome... how far along with it are you?

Its made by Alloy Race Components. I havent weighed it, but its 4-5kgs.

For reference, the CRS flywheel they sell with their manual conversion kits weighs 8-10Kgs.

Ill be using a 4kg alloy flywheel with my manual 1UZ conversion.

Its using the axles that came with it, which are 5 stud (5x114.3). G series diffs came out in 5 stud in quite a few cars/trucks/vans. You do have RN2x (early 70's) in the USA, im over here at the moment, and have seen at least 1 on the road. RN4x work as well, but they are wider. More photos...

Ive just installed a RN25 diff in my RA28 Celica. Its a G series, so its the uber-tough 8" crownwheel. Using a JZA70 torsen LSD center with a 4.1 CW&P. Also using the JZA70 disk brakes on it. I had a diff shop change the mounts from the original Celica diff.

What country are you talking about? I know of a 1UZ VVTI half-cut in Aus. Going cheap too ($3850).

And thank god, we didnt get safety bumpers until the RA40 too.

Porting wont fix bad inlet/exst port angles and the bad chamber design caused by it.

I wonder if the oil has ever been changed.

Can someone please give me a valid 1UZ (non-vvti) serial number? I need it for road transport authority engine conversion approval. I only need one as i havent bought an engine yet... obviously proper registration will be done with the serial number of the engine i do buy. Thanks!!

Remember youll also have to do stuff like box up the carbs and play with the carb fuel supply system to get it to work.
