    I am planning to do the same. the Megasquirt is not able to run the VVTi engines as i know. even without VVTi working I believe we could get some decent power over the non-vvti 1UZ.

    This is a 1st generation 1UZ-FE (LS400). "Non VVt-i" The Megasquirt 2 or 3 ECU will work fine with you. even with the dual dizzy setup. you could reach 7500 RPM with this motor .... I believe 300 FWHP is reachable also..

    Are Lexus fuel claims correct ?

    1- The computer will start to average the data from last reset. 2- the stop start will affect the fuel consumption badly. 3- the more you go you will get more accurate readings.

    I would vote for a single - mid size- turbo with rods and pistons (lower compression) along with good ECU and tune. if you get 375 - 400 RWHP out of that ... it will be a good power - considering the durability - for that car.

    You could fabricate your original car sensor to be installed on the R154 ... OR ... have a middle signal modulator adapter to use the OEM R154 with your car OEM dash speedo.
