Project Thread Supercharged 1UZ Bangkok Drag Truck

Fasteddie: I will be using the standard intake and plenum for now, with some small mods. I have cleaned up the interior of the plenum by filling the holes, crators, and passages with epoxy and grinding and sanding it all smooth. I have also gone to a slightly larger throttle body by welding...

Project Thread Supercharged 1UZ Bangkok Drag Truck

There are strange things happping with your web provider: not only are all my posted photos missing, there is actually a photo (an exhaust system drawing) in one of my posts that I didn't put there. My race car will not have a muffler! This is meant as feedback, not a complaint. Technology is...

Zuffen, Thanks. Yes, I have a steel tube back brace from the outside edge of the supercharger bracket back to the cylinder head, but I didn't get a photo of it. Flex will be a possibility, but I am going to put as many triangulated gussets in and around as possible, and double up the forged...

Thanks for your concern. You are right. I should have given more info. Yes, I will have an adjustable idler (tensioner) pulley mounted on the outside of the belt near the supercharger (this also provides more "contact patch" between belt and pulley). I have the smallest pulley Vortec makes...

Project Thread Supercharged 1UZ Bangkok Drag Truck

I notice that under the new web management the photos I posted have been removed. Oh well. Here is a link to my Racing Projects Blog where you can read about new progress on my supercharged 1UZ drag truck. http://drjeffbangkok.squarespace.com/racing-projects-blog/ And a photo (maybe) of (1)...

Project Thread Supercharged 1UZ Bangkok Drag Truck

I have been away from the shop for two weeks (in The States for a conference). In the meantime, my guys fabricated a mock-up of the Vortec V-9 supercharger brackets in aluminum and cardboard . . . to be transferred to steel once we are sure it all aligns. I may or may not want to brace the...

What Are The Injector Options For 1UZ?

I am at a purchase point for injectors for my supercharged 1UZ race car project ( http://drjeffbangkok.squarespace.com/racing-projects-blog/ ). I have been all over the Web like flies on roast beef . . . . and there is a lot of "information" out there on this topic. I am looking for a "drop in...

I need an answer quick: I have been told that the Subaru "pink" "565cc" injector is a drop in replacement n the 1UZ. True?

Project Thread Supercharged 1UZ Bangkok Drag Truck

Thanks for the upgrade on the site server. Here are some pics of the current state of my 1UZ implant into my race truck. I modified the standard oil filter flange to accept -10 fittings (smoothed the inside too). Lots of photos and notes on my Racing Projects Blog...

Yeah . . . . . you know . . . there is vibration . . . . the pick-up is trying to suck the pipe to the bottom of the pan . . . oil is thick . . . . and maybe I worked too long on a le Mans prototype class team where everything is built to last 24 hours at WOT!

Project Thread Supercharged 1UZ Bangkok Drag Truck

I spent yesterday down on the floor in the shop fitting the 1UZ V-8 into the Familia race truck chassis. A lot of time and care was taken to phase the drive line: after leveling the racer in all planes, a line was drawn on the floor that exactly passed through the centerline of the rear axle...
