    Nope, there is an 8.2 liter caddy engine, just saw on in new york with 8.2 liter on the side and i remember kurt vonnegut mentioning them in one of his books, then i looked into it, torque monster and the car was fwd.

    its amazing justen has been able to pull so much power and high boost out of the later weaker rod engine when everyone else has had destruction and those rods look tiny compared to the 90-94.

    Back to topic; it's awesome what your doing with the custom manifold, can't wait to see the results. If someone would produce a manifold, this could be a cost effective key to opening up one of the 1uz's worse limitations.

    i'm trying to remember, but couldn't find it. Did someone make 1,000hp with a 1uz in an ultima gtr, was he using an early engine with a stock/custom manifold or a later vvti? Justen, did you say that the powerband is the same even with FI on the stock manifold?

    Thanks, i'm glad we have an experienced pro as yourself on this forum. Definately saves wasted time/effort/money. That is unfortunate news though, that means n/a performance for the 1uz is always going to be ultra expensive. Some people think you can redesign an engine with cams/porting etc...

    Has anyone tried a ported upper and lower intake manifold with a larger tb on a 1uz. I have found companies that port intake manifolds and granted the dynos were on domestic cars (although modern, like a 4.6 mustang), the gains were big time in conjuntion with ported heads. Anyone out there...

    yes jibby, that's why everyone is leaning towards FI, radical cams, porting on a 4.0 without vvt-i in a 3700lbs with an auto doesn't really make sense for low-end.

    also look at srt intake/ecu combos. They make them for the gs, i'm not sure on ls, but the dyno's show huge gains for little dough.

    that's insane how hard the supra pulls away, especially since that is not the normal murc but the lp640, which of course has 640hp. But the murc sounds so sweet.

    That's great, looks like your making around 290hp (est. 22% drivetrain loss) so about 55hp over a stock 1uz. I wonder why the stage II cams are peaking around 5K? Also, what exhaust are you running?

    I was going to replace my timing belt on my sc400, yet it doesn't need to for awhile. These are genuine japanese parts. Toyota timing belt 13568-59045, toyota front crankshaft seal 90311-42026, camshaft seals, koyo idler made in japan, NSK tensioner made in japan. $200 shipped. Check feedback...
