All very true. The Chevelle had very small, and i'm not sure if radial or bias, tires on it. With a set of modern rubber, it would do much better. Corvette's are lighter than a 4 passenger chevelle, they are more than a muscle car. A fair comparison to muscle cars would be new camaro ss...

if you are getting 20mpg in a van that is amazing. The most i get out of my sc400 is 24 strictly highway, 26 one time in ideal conditions.

I did drive a sequoia and was impressed with the low-end torque vs. the 1uz. So if you really wanted a uz, a 2uz may do it for you, but it still won't be a "stump puller".

well i did see he is in europe so it may be a smaller style ford van in europe, not sure. My experiences are with 1 ton chevy vans.

you will not be happy with the torque on a 1uz (non-vvti) in a van. Find yourself a 351 and put some decent factory heads on it and you'd be much happier. I have an sc400 and couldn't imagine the 1uz torque as adequate in a van. I have two vans and i even miss the torque in the one with the 350...

have u driven it? My 18 yo lexus has a working column and boot, it would take some serious abuse to kill those in a 03', be careful.

the best stuff is it only weighs 430 pounds and has variable valve timing on the intake and exhaust. I wander how it sounds, ls1 guys admit how sexy cobras sound, if it sounds good it would be a good canidate for a 77 celica if i get another one, or at least added to the list of candidates, haha.
