I think the u.s. models have 200hp, these cars by the specs look to be awesome, but when i purchased my sc400 6 years ago i couldn't find an mr2 for a decent price that wasnt' ragged out, so i imagine it would be even tougher now

that version with higher compression and sequential injection makes about 260hp, it also has weaker internals though

oh wait, just did some quick research. Is it a ci or csi? The ci only has 322hp and 361 ft lbs which for the weight a 98 sc400 would probably be just as quick and leagues apart in reliability.

v-12 would be fun, my friend got a 93 sl600 this that is so clean, i thought my sc was in good condition for that age. Anyhow, it has the 6.0L v-12 with 389hp and 422ft lbs. Hit punched it from a roll with 285's and it still broke traction. First v-12 i've been in and its a fun car!

If it frustrates you too much i did find a shop that did good work my sc400 cheap in San Gabriel, if you go that direction.

how many miles on the car? You could install a used engine and get alot more for a complete running car. That's scary, i believe i have similar miles, of course i'm going to guess the NOS cut the life of your engine in half.

I suppose that could be true and there is not enough friction when cold. I ran amsoil in my old celica with a 20r and it had a top end tap. One time i put in some conventional oil and the tap actually went away when the engine was cool because there was more friction that it needed, haha.

you may want to take a look at clubna-t.com as well to see what IS300 guys are doing with turbos. Stock gte rods and pistons can be picked up new for cheap and then your good for more power than you'll probably need.
