Like you have never made typo! But you have no proof a 1U will even fit in a Merkur! Jake

Parts Supercharger lower manifold and plate

That is the manifold that angles the injectors and rails out a bit right? I would need to fit a M112 supercharger on it. Jake

    Motor/Transmission Mounts

Here is a set of mounts to put the 1U in the 1968-74 X body (Nova, Apollo an so on) or the 1967-69 F body (Camaro, Firebird). Still have to do some weld & grind then plate and paint but so far so good! Jake

    1UZ vs 2UZ into FJ45LV Land Cruiser

The first question I would ask is if you need a front, mid or rear sump pan. Which transmission do you want? An automatic or manual? Jake

    1UZ vs 2UZ into FJ45LV Land Cruiser

In my opinion the LV is not too heavy. The 2U would be a better engine for the application. But only if you don't think the 1U will give you what you need. Jake

    Newbie needs help on conversion

I agree with you. But I got in a 1U with billet fuel rails and at first glance I though early motor. But the lack of the coolant crossover temp sensor showed it to be a OBDII engine. Further disassemble proved it to be OBDII. The motors are getting to a point now where we might start seeing...

    1UZ vs 2UZ into FJ45LV Land Cruiser

Its a very subjective thing. The 1U engine in that vehicle for me would work fine on the street. Light duty trailing would work good as well. After that I think you might find the engine will start running out of power. Running on the dunes would also quickly show the limits of the engine...

    1UZ vs 2UZ into FJ45LV Land Cruiser

I have Man-a-Fre Land-cruiser right behind my shop. Every once in awhile I see one of those over there. I think it will move it down the road OK. I am not sure it would handle and real heavy offroading. They have quite a bit of torque but with large tires and the drivetrain loss I don't...

    Newbie needs help on conversion

No not the ecu. If you are standing at the front of the car looking down at the motor there is the water neck at the top of the motor. just to the left of that there is a square coil. Just behind that coil or just to the right and behind it there should be a temp sensor in the coolant...

    Newbie needs help on conversion

Saltigagt, Just out of curiosity is there a grey connector just to the left of the water neck on the top of the motor? It would be almost right behind the coil on the passenger side of the motor. Jake

    1uz (1st gen) intake adapter

Redrocco there is no reason why it wouldn't work well on the street and at modest boost levels. The problems you will run into depends on the dynamics of your arrangement when air velocity starts increasing. You have some really sharp turns in your manifold and as the velocity increases and...

Anyone have an accurate drawing of the engine side Bellhousing dimensions?

Steve, I do. I know they are exact since I used them for my adapter. Send me an email and I can send you what you need. [email protected] Jake

    1uz (1st gen) intake adapter

There is nothing wrong with that bullet package. Especially if you are trying to stay as low as possible. Another thing to consider is that on mine I have a lot of room to go up because of a cowl induction hood. If you have to keep it under a low hood than money well spent would be the bullet...

    1uz (1st gen) intake adapter

Yeah I have seen those two. The one I am working on is machined from a solid piece of billet. It is a lower, middle and an upper plate. I can see a number of issues with the box on the lower manifold. But it would probably not manifest itself on something like a 4X4. Jake

    1uz (1st gen) intake adapter

I am building one right now but the way I am doing it would be stupid expensive to reproduce. I looked around a lot and asked a lot of friends in the industry. I never found a US based company that sold a manifold. Jake
