    thats the the coolant drain dood. When you want to drain coolant from the block, you attach a hose to the metal pipe on the side and loosen the bolt until the coolant comes out. (you dont need to take the bolt out). Just make sure the bolt is done up. You can leave it as is mate. Rudi
