    Seller Feedback Dellow

I have heard people I know who have tried to deal with Dellows over the pnhone by fax and email and always get stories of frustration. I have never spoken to the man personally but I have had to do jobs with Dellow parts and its not a good story. In the Australian 4wd fraternity most people go...

Seller Feedback The Castlemaine Rod Shop

Hi Glenn, I used to "visit" the Rod shop often on my drives from NSW to SA. Its a pity its being sold again. Do the current owners have any engineering experience? or do they rely on the staff for everything? $750k is a barrier to most people and then the SAV on top of that, not sure to many...

    US Dollars

Um, I never said Damm Japan, I have an issue with my government giving my tax dollars to a Japanese manufacturer for doing something our local company can do. Kevin Rudd, my Prime Minister, went to Japan and gave them money, he didn't give Toyota Australia money. Laugh all you want at what I...

    Learning About Australia

We have been in drought on and off since 1983, this latest one has been going for 10 years in some parts. With the desalination issue you mentioned the problem is no-one wants a desal plant near them, ocean frontage is highly sought after real estate and you really don't want to live next to...

    US Dollars

When I was in primary school (about 30 years ago now) the Aussie/US $ ratio was AU$1.20-US, then we had Bob Hawke and aPaul Keating stuff our economy after the 2 preceding PMs and Teasurers did their best to stuff it also. Then our AU$ collapsed and it was only 3 years ago it was under the $0.50...

    Learning About Australia

Small world, I loved Tant it was a cosy little town and I was fortunate enough that the people were friendly with me and my family. Tant and another town called Paxton near Cessnock in NSW are the only two places I have really felt comfortable in, everywhere els has just been somewhere to live.

    Learning About Australia

My dad is a Protestant Scot, born and bred there, who migrated to Australia. His thoughts about the Irish are, to me anyway, just as bad as the uneducated woman in Camden's view of the Arabic peoples. The problem with religion is it takes over a persons lifestyle and the more "fundamental" the...

    Learning About Australia

Its not really hostility towards the Brits, I am a 1st generation aussie on my dad's side afterall, but more of a feeling that we don't need them, or the USA either for that matter, anymore. There is alot of bad feelings towards some groups but it is highly unjustified to my way of thinking. In...

If you ever get a chance go to Darwin during the dry (less flies) and eat out in the open air at any one of a large number of places and eat food from all over the world...

    Learning About Australia

And this is coming from a guy who lives in the land of "Supersize me". Our food is good, BBQs are a healthy way to eat and if you combine it with fresh veg you have a meal fit for a King, or in your case a President lol. Food is something that literally is personal taste, I love a stir fry or a...

my 1UZ Bundera..with issues pls help

Thanks Even. I was going to use the T700R4 for the O/D (my car is a long distance tourer not setup for racing) but when you said about the Toyota g/box I thought you may have done the full Toyota thing. Thanks again.

1uz transplant into E36 Bmw coupe

I agree with anodyne, the g'box member needs bracing. It is certainly thick material but it has to resist the flex of the engines torque as well as the weight sitting on it. A strip that rises about 5-10 mmm above the bar on both the front and the back to give torsional strength would suffice.

my 1UZ Bundera..with issues pls help

How did you mate the Crown Auto to the 70s transfer? I have a 75 Troopy and I want to fit a UZ and Auto, probably from a soarer, to it yet have not been able to find out if they well bolt up or what I have to do to get them to bolt up. Now everyone can tell me theres a "how to" or a thread on...
