thats great Kelvin ...just 2 quick questions... How do you get the hydraulic fan pump pulley off...tried a rattlle gun etc etc do you have to get the 5 bolts off under the pulley?? Or does the whole pump assembly come off to do that? And also what size belt are you using (ie a 5PK1250 ) ...

so is it simply a stroked 1UZ FE type block or alot of differences ? Do you think we'd be able to put the crank and rods in a 1UZFE for instance?

heres some photos of the mock up 1 UZ install. I have made up a sandwich plate to adapt the Mercruiser bellhousing to the alpha sterndrive transom assembly. It sat in the engine bay quite nicely and the sterndrive shaft alighned up to the coupler quite nicely.

Thanks Hallj you are right I wouldnt push it. I reckon at the most I will keep it stock ......maybe with an M90 supercharger down the track. Once I start going for this power Id prefer to put the $$$ into a big block 247VLX Malibu. Update.... The mock up engine is now in the boat and the engine...

Hi Rod, He was doing a job on the lathe and the job flew off and severed viens and tendons in his wrists. He has not been a well boy and has not been able to do any fabricating for a couple of months now. That also means no $$$ coming in and things are a bit of a stretch for him at the moment...

Hey all, I was wondering if there was a setup I can buy which deletes the a/c compressor pump and I can run a straight pulley. Or is there another way to delete the pump cause its going into a boat and I wont require air conditioning obviously!! Craig
