I'm possibly ignoring something really obvious here, but isn't the Toyota Camry V6 basically a 1UZ with 2 cylinders missing? With this in mind, could you not use a manual transmission from a V6 Camry to overcome this problem? You may be able to bolt this 'box up to the 1UZ without an adaptor...
