Ok, took off both top and bottom intake manifold and I have fresh oil in both so I think it's safe to say that I'm getting oil blow by also. Prolly from the rings not seating correctly. I may have a combination of problems on my hands...

I used a graphite head gasket, new head bolts, and I torqued them to 29fp then a 90 degree turn all in the right order of course.

My exhaust doesnt smell like it's burning oil.... It smells funny actually. I will try thicker oil though. I'm praying I don't have to go back into this engine though. I've about run out of patience with this car!! I love it though :rolleyes:

oh and as far as starting the engine goes.... make sure you have good grounds. battery to chasis, chasis to engine, engine to battery. That simple thing will cause major problems with firing!

thanks madmont. I was hoping maybe I could just use reverse from the a340 in the a341. Couldn't be that easy tho lol. Guess I'll take the a341 apart as soon as I get a few days off.
