    Slip Yoke Rear Gearbox Seal

Got it out, yep total PITA! Used a 1 5/8th socket to press it back in, 31/32 mm socket is the same dia as the tail shaft yoke. Hopefully it now doesn't leak anymore.

    Slip Yoke Rear Gearbox Seal

Thanx Peewee, got an MX83 one yesterday. I pulled the tailshaft out this morning but cannot find the 31/32mm nut that Zuffen is talking about. Looking at the new seal it appears that the old one should just pull out and the new one press in - old one does not wanna move though so wanna make...

    Slip Yoke Rear Gearbox Seal

I had the center CV joint in the tail shaft fail 3 weeks ago and only got it all working again a couple of days ago but have found the rear gearbox seal in the extension housing now leaks :( Does anyone know the part number or where i can findout, i have the LS400 manuals but they have a...

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

S4 is for pressure modulation, it is PWM at 330Hz with a varying duty cycle. Leaving it disconnected will make the shifts firmer at light/medium throttle, otherwise the tranny will work like normal. The 1UZ PCM will know if it is not there, it measures the current through the solenoid...

Twin Turbo 1UZ, but which Ones???

A pair of WRX turbos are another option, STI spec would be better. Or how about some VG30DET turbos?? RX7 S4 turbo, although the turbine A/R may be a little average?? There are a fair few 2L-3L turbo cars out there willing to give up a turbo just need to find a matched pair. Would be good for...

Temp sensors, whats their purpose ?

The temp sensors are used for over-temp protection of the cats. In a lean condition (such as decel enleanment or lean cruise) the cats can get too hot and fail. The ECU will cool the cats by adding fuel for a short period or decreasing the amount of decel fuel enleanment or delay the onset of...

    1UZ on an aftermarket computer

The haltech will work fine with the 1UZ TPS, wired up a Haltech the other week on a Daihatsu Turbo which uses a standard 0-5v TPS like the 1UZ. There are 4 wires on the 1UZ TPS but you only need three of them. TRC will only work with high end ECU's, like a MOTEC (and it would be optional anyway)

    1UZ on an aftermarket computer

Another ECU to consider is the Wolf3D V4 Plus, the plus can run the factory stepper motor by using only 4 of the 6 wires, which converts the stepper motor to bi-polar instead of uni-polar but will still work exactly the same as factory. It can be had for $1400-1500 without the hand controller...

    1UZ on an aftermarket computer

Yeah all the same sensor with the same part number stamped into it, different prices from holden and HSV though! Sounds like he has extended the maps, thats the best way to get around the problem. Some people do some pretty dodgy things like running a 3 bar map sensor using standard code, u...

    Vet C5 Calipers

Yep used on selected VT onwards HSV's (Commodore's get smaller twin piston calipers and 298mm discs, i have them on my VL), the C5 package is labeled as the "Performance Package", premium is the 4 and 6 piston calipers. Lex: Another caliper to look at is the late model Landcruiser, nice and...

    1UZ on an aftermarket computer

I spent a whole 30 minutes on the dyno to get the AFR's and timing initially setup, just havnt been back to finish off the WOT tune yet as the diff is dying, all low end stuff has been done on the road. Plus after 30 minutes we got 155rwkw, this was with a factory holden V6 airbox, factory paper...

    1UZ on an aftermarket computer

If other tuners actually did some back to back runs they would find out the exact same thing, this happens with any engine - maximum power is a fair few degrees before spark advance that causes knock, while the engine is knocking you are losing power. The actual amount is different for all...

    Smt

Actually 8 x 20ohm injectors for the units rated 5.4A @ 14.4v (6 x 16 ohm). The 1UZs injectors are 13.6ohm so will draw 8.4A @ 14.4v if they run off one injector driver. Also make sure that the unit can handle the trigger setup of the 1UZ, it mentions missing tooth crank signals but not crank...
