    alternator wires ??

On the LS 400 Alternator you have the following A large bolt on connector thats for main power out going back into the battery through a 120 amp fuse. You then have a seperate connector with three wires into it Pin 1 white and blue 12 volt output goes to battery with a 40 amp fuse Pin...

T-Cooler sizing, too big? too little?

Hi Stacey, Long time no hear, is your build finished yet? I've got a transmission oil cooler within the end tank of my radiator, which means that in theory the engine water, engine oil (cooled by the factory engine oil to water cooler) and auto gearbox transmission fluid should all be at the...

    IS200 Swap from 1G-FE to 1UZ-FE

Marcus, The RPM signal comes from one of the ignitors, you will find on one of them a black wire that terminates at a plug on the end of the engine loom that in the LS400 connects into a plug on the body loom that takes the signal from the ignitor to the rev counter. As far as I know the...

Have you tried THOR racing at Warwick. They have lots of 1UZFE goodies including gearbox fitting kits for the Lexus V8s. Cheers, Tony

    IS200 Swap from 1G-FE to 1UZ-FE

Marcus, Have you earthed the ignitors, they are earthed through their bodies and if you haven't the car will never run. No idea why your fuel pump is permanently running but as its permanent live have you checked the wiring on the fuel pump relay is correctly connected. Theres only a few...

do i need these wires to run engine?

Hi Zen, No need to connect up 2nd set of o2 sensors car will run fine without. NSw to 12v on start is correct. Dont know if you can cut power to injectors seperately From my experience the power button just changes the change up rev limit, I've not detected any change in engine performance...

    Correct Oil Pressure

I see about 90 psi at anything over 2500 rpm, 40 psi idling when warm, 60 psi idling when cold on a 60k miler , so I don't think you have anything to worry about. I beleive that when new 100psi oil pressure is expected. cheers, Tony

How fast should a 1UZ Hilux be ?

Sounds like a fuel starvation problem. How is the fuel pump mounted? Is it in a swirl pot in the tank with the return feed (I take it tou have a return feed) going into the pot or mounted outside the tank as a typical normal carb fuel pump.If the latter the fuel delivery system will not work...

How fast should a 1UZ Hilux be ?

Whats the weight of the truck? Unless its less than the LS400 the engine came from it won't be lighting up tyres in 2nd anyway as the it didnt do that in the donor vehicle that has less transmission parasitic losses. In comparison putting a 1UZfe into a 1038 kilo Cobra does turn the engine...

1uzfe into mk 6 transit van

Hi Rich, It was a pleasure to share some knowledge. Don't bother sending me anything but if you feel the need donate to the running costs of this Lextreme site which has helped so many people. Oh and take lots of piccies and stick them up on here as you may be the first to put a Lexus V8...

1uzfe into mk 6 transit van

Hi Rich, I'll drop some diagrams into your email tomorrow. I know how you feel re buying a LS 400 snotter as thats what my mate and I did, we told the respective Mrs it was for spares, as it only cost £300 and we would break it. Now 4000 miles later its redundant as my mate has the first...

1uzfe into mk 6 transit van

Hi Rich, Pm me your email address and I'll drop you some wiring diagrams that should make your life a bit easier although you seem to have most things covered already. In common with most other engine tranplanters I've dumped the two speed fuel pump option and just run the fuel pump at 12...

1uzfe into mk 6 transit van

Hi Rich, I'm not using the gearshift light positions on the dash and the engine/ gearbox ensemble works fine without. IIRC the white plug has a feed for the starter solonoid ( thick black wire and the start switch black/ yellow?) and these are the main ones I spliced into on that plug. It...

fuel economy...(lack of i expect)..never FI a petrol engine before

Hi Zen, Seems we are cut from the same cloth........ie never mind the quality feel the width. I just love seeing how little I can to spend to create a frankenstein engineered monster. When you find your turbo donor vehicles let me know as GT 28's are it seems quite rare and I'm unsure as to...

1uzfe into mk 6 transit van

What do you want to know? I've installed the same ecu and engine box combination in a kit car and it all works fine. If you do a search on my name you will find the pots I've made which should give you all the info you will need to get both engine and box running as they should. Cheers, Tony

fuel economy...(lack of i expect)..never FI a petrol engine before

Hi Zen, Been lots of discussion on here re twin turboing and my understanding is that a pair of GT28's and intercooler running up to 7 psi should be ok on stock engine and ecu. Any more boost that that requires an aftermarket or piggy back computer for fueling purposes, bigger/ additional...

MAF Repairable or a bin job.....

Guys, Playing with the Lexus engined Cobra No 1 yesterday and it was finding it difficult to hold an idle, I was even forced to increase the idle speed via the throttle stop stop screw. I then remembered the advice given on the forum re rough running. ie disconnect the MAF sensor and if it...
