Drop a nut into the oil return on the head

Doesn't sound like you have any option other than to pull the pan... That sure sounds like an "oh ****" moment...

Anyone designed motor / transmission mounts for a 2nd or 3rd gen 4runner/truck?

Rob - looks like the 22R and 3VZE rubber sections are the same.

Anyone designed motor / transmission mounts for a 2nd or 3rd gen 4runner/truck?

I'm using the lower half of the 3VZE mounts (which have rubber in them) for the motor mounts. My trans support setup will likely be unique from everyne elses since I'll be running dual cases.

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

Heat is the enemy. Keep everything nice and cool and you should get some good longevity. If you really flog it hard, there's always a chance it will go boom. Make sure you have a skid under it too - cracking the case can come from either driveline shock, binding or some external...

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

Big - that VF2A tcase has a proven record behind hundreds of TRD supercharged 3.4 V6's. Their power output is similar to earlier NA 1UZs.

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

Flanges are already drawn up here: http://www.lextreme.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5476 I think a shorter version of Mudman's artwork should fit the bill. I am getting a set of flanges cut on the waterjet next week - gotta order some bends and tubing ASAP...

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

From what I've seen, the collector may get into the firewall. (See post 193) The flowtech ones have a better chance of fitting, but may get into the framerail/torsion bar bracketry (See post 192) I don't have any 2UZ exhaust parts, so I'm not 100% on that. There are pics earlier in this...

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

Not sure, but I think it is a VF2A - I have one out of a 2000 4Runner I'll check. The only reason I went with the gear drive cases was so I could run crawler gears and a doubler. The other benefit for me was the driveshaft got back on the correct side for my application. The 96-02 A340F...

That would be awesome! You around Monday for a phone call? Weekends are bad for me due to family obligations...

    1UZ Vs. 2UZ HP & TQ

I've always thought that when an engine is tuned for torque, there is a loss of HP. Plus, the 2UZ is probably also tuned for mid range power, not top end.

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

You might need to add the speed sensor show in the pics above also for the ECU to be happy. In talking with SuperRunner, he seems to think it is not needed.

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

Good Posting! That is great info. Where did you come across that list? I saw 1 error for sure, but not a huge deal. The 1995 4Runner came with an A340H - diffferent animal than the A340F. Also, the 1996-2002 4Runners came with A340F. The list only calls out a few years...

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

That is a great move. There is much more knowledge available for the 4.0 currently. 3-4 years down the road will be another matter entirely...

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

Hey - anybody know what will take the paint off that the junk yards use to tag their wares? Not wild about this being on the final product.

    SC400 1UZ into 1988 RX7

Sorry if this has been discussed (didn't see it). What car is that engine out of? I was under the impression that we didn't get mid sump motors here. If that's a rear sump, it sure isn't back as far as the oil pan I got from a Land Cruiser.

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

I am hoping to remove my 1" BL, but I'm still not sure that can happen yet. Going for low and planning to hack my fenders/footwells. (like my shim?) Did another trial fit of the oil filter mount. Framerail clearance is an issue. On the left is the 1UZ filter on the right, the 3VZE...

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

Clears the breather extension and ARB line perfectly. Although, I will likely raise it up some for breathing room. Now that I got it tucked down nicely, the motor mounts will actually be pretty short now. I measured and it appears they will be roughly 2 1/2" to 3" off the stock 3VZ rubber...

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

Driver Side: Business End: After numerous adjustments, I think this last shot is pretty close to where it will sit. I will have to modify the steel oilpan (may make from scratch - probably easier) - jury is out on the pickup tube for now though. I need to pull the aluminum ring off...

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

Finally got a chance for a 2nd Fitting yesterday. Thought I'd post up some long overdue pics... These first two are for SuperRunner (shows the speed sensors on the A341E and A340F) The additional speed sensor the 1UZ ECU needs to see can be added easily to the A340F (since you need the...

Wanted 1uz rear sump and pickup

The 2UZ will work also - they are plentiful, at least in the states. 100 Series Land Cruiser uses this.
