convert ls400 air sus to coilover

you can just pull out the air, and go to the breakers (junkyard) and grab a normal set... That's what I did anyway. I then got a cheap $35 coilover kit off ebay for some random car, and now am on coilovers for less than $100 usd total. - PS, I race this car quite successfully too.

    LS400 without power steering?

Just FYI back from the dead - I did remove power steering and it was fine, even with sticky race tires. Decided for driver endurance (racing enduros) to put back in - went with Prius EPS and it works great.

    GS400 1998 Random no-start <solved>

    - Swapped out the MAF, no change - Swapped out the ignition switch, no change - Changed the key battery, no change - CPS seems fine, no gunk on it, wiring seems good. HOWEVER.... I do have Prius EPS on this car, and I THINK what might be happening is some times the voltage is pulled low by the...

    GS400 1998 Random no-start <solved>

ok, no codes so far. Fuel pump is new. CPS wiring looks ok. Will pull it to see if gunked up.

    GS400 1998 Random no-start <solved>

Thanks(?) zero input data? I don't know what to provide. Its got the full engine, trans and wiring from the GS, so essentially a stock 1998 GS400 from an operational standpoint. It has a kill switch (otherwise the battery will drain for other reasons) so I don't have any codes. I'll hook it up...

    GS400 1998 Random no-start <solved>

This is a transplant. Car has been running great, instant start, runs smooth etc... Suddenly I'm getting no-starts randomly. It cranks fine, and starter spins over quickly, but doesn't catch or catches and dies right away. Seems to be totally random. Either it starts immediately or not at all...

99GS400 VVTI engine running rich.... (Transplant)

So car seems right now, but new by-product. Its always fired up instantly. After putting in the FPR, Sometimes its hard to start with a puff of smoke - could a leaky injector cause that?

99GS400 VVTI engine running rich.... (Transplant)

I don't have any tools to read data (is there a cheap consumer tool for that?), but if I understand you correctly your saying overfueling shouldn't be an issue? I'm using the GS fuel pump computer but the LS fuel pump.

Thanks... Google not saved me yet lol...

    How to test ABS wiring?

Hi, I did a transplant using a 99GS400 braking system and not sure I got all the ABS sensors wired correctly. Is there any easy way to make sure I got the polarity right on each wheel sensor? My ABS isn't working, but brakes function fine otherwise.

99GS400 VVTI engine running rich.... (Transplant)

Thanks... I got a FPR and put it inline and kept the tank unit like you suggested (was more a PITA than I expected). I thought 42 was the magic number, but looking at the tech manuals I thought I read it was like 50? Regardless, I dialed it back as you mentioned since Toyota's have seemingly...

99GS400 VVTI engine running rich.... (Transplant)

I transplanted this engine in a 90LS400 using the original fuel tank and pump and converted to return less using the GS in tank regulator. Its a race car, and I have dual exhaust, side exit and not cats but stock exhaust manifolds. Ever since, its been running rich. I put a fuel gauge on it and...

    GS400 Brake pedal soft.

Ya, bad booster makes the pedal all kinds of hard. I put fresh pads on and once bedded and brakes bled a bunch of times it was "OK". Toyota brakes are just way too mushy for my taste which shakes my confidence on track - Plus, ABS isn't working (don't know why yet) so it was killing my lap...

    GS400 Brake pedal soft.

Got it sorted, raced successfully... Pedal travel longer than I'd like but works fine now.

    94 SC400 weird trans issues

Because its related - you got a MAF code, so its relevant what happens to the trans if the MAF fails. No need to be hostile.

    94 SC400 weird trans issues

Does a MAF fault change how the trans operates? My car is running rich, and sometimes will hit the rev limit without shifting. I don't see any codes tho

98' GS400, No cats, aftermarket intake - running very rich. Is this normal?

thanks. I presume the trims are monitored live. What's good numbers? I'll also swap out the MAF and rule that out as an issue.

    What is suitable AFR range

In other worlds, you tune by EGT as much as AFR... Leaner is meaner up until it cooks.

crown auto to wolf tuner EMS

I'd love to hear more about that... racing this weekend, and the trans was not fun. GS400 driveline, but the pushbuttons don't work for some reason either, so it kept shifting mid corner. Looking for low cost solution to just run on flappy paddles when in "D"

98' GS400, No cats, aftermarket intake - running very rich. Is this normal?

What tools do I need and what trims am I looking for? (I have the ODB port, but no dash) It runs fine, just too rich. I temporarily opened up a small air bleed after the MAF and it was better, but still too rich. What's the failure mode of the MAF? would it just run a fixed rich map?
