so, T2 just bolts in, in place of the open spider gears. Nothing to it. Take apart diff, put in the new bits, reset your gear spacing/pinion lash, bobs yer uncle. I used the SC300 diff because the ring an pinion is 4.26 ish instead of the 3.63 ish gear ratios - LS is geared too tall for track...

Well, I gave powerdynamics a shot - more clutches, cryo treat, valve body mods etc. Just got it back in, racing in a couple weeks and will see how it does. Definitely shifts a lot harder now, but no idea yet how it will perform on track. Auto trans still a bit voodoo to me. Still on stock...

Pulling the 1998 GS400 trans for rebuild, the cooler lines broke when trying to remove at the fitting. What's best way to repair? Get own fittings and soft aluminum line and bend up new, or are these still available? If I need to make my own, anybody know off hand the fitting and tubing size...

Grab everything, then dump what you don't need later. Wish I had followed my own advice the first time lol

That sounds really weird. Mine is soft in every gear but 5th.. I thought it was just clutch slippage. Where's this fuse? I might change it just for the heck of it lol

"Real TRD" is a bit of a misnomer. For the most part they just get stuff off random suppliers anyway. Rather than a different thermostat, I've been running a higher pressure cap which made a big difference in cooling effectiveness (rando cap from parts store_

I did get this solved properly. Was another screwup on my part. Turns out the caliper had loosened up a bit at the race previous so was moving around. Once bolted down tightly again it was fine. Dang, these stupid mistakes are killin me.

Turns out it was the worst reason of all - I forgot a plug... The GS and LS of course are very different. I had to poke a hole in the firewall for the GS wiring to pass through, and when I routed everything, I had forgotten to plug one plug in! Argg.. The agony! Its really great, but runs a bit...

Just a quick update. I did eventually sort it all out, and we are right up front with the fastest cars on track. Its super stable and easy to drive. We ran without power steering, but with 2.5hr stints some of the drivers got tired and it was hard to steer quickly when things go sideways so...

Thanks for the replies... figured it out. EPS was pulling down voltage. Rewired EPS to not power up until start and alls good.
