    Cool project! I had an 81' 4x4, and a 4x2 also looked about like that in tan color - It needed rear brakes and I had supra spares so I machined up the necessary bits and gave it 4 wheel discs lol.

    So I have a 1uz vvt not a 3uz... So nobody is running manual successfully with 1uz vvt, or is it possible to tune the 1uz also? (98' GS400). Maybe I'm asking the wrong question - My real need is to improve the shift logic of the 650E attached to a 1UZ VVT. What's best way to get that done? Thanks...

    Pull the column covers and check the bits for tightness - maybe add a washer to the tightener. A snap ring is a thin metal ring about 350 degrees around that "snaps" into a groove on a shaft to prevent stuff from sliding off.

    I'd say just be happy with the stock motor and trans - going beyond not worth the money and I haven't found I need any more HP.... BTW, my car is Brilliant on track, and I'm routinely top of the pack with little suspension mods so.... :) To make it quicker, use the differential out of the SC300...

    Thanks George. So do I just need the TCU to provide particular signals back to the ECU or is there no practical way to run a aftermarket trans controller without also replacing the ECU? (anything plug and play to replace the ECU/TCU?) The trans logic works horribly in a race car. A bit at a loss...
