    cribb is right. The shortblock is identical minus the oil squirters in the GTE and are both made of iron. Externally, the oil pan should give it away!

    What advantages are there to a 2uz crank in a 1uz block? Are the '98+ 1uz blocks any different than the previous gen.? Well back to topic. My choice would def. be a 2uz block with a 3uz head----------->turboed of course! Talk about extreme, if not LEXTREME; lol!!
