I'm jumping 2 wires going the the fp ecu. When I connect the wires the fuel pump turns on before I put the key into the ingnition. The wires I'm connecting are green and red/black. I found a couple of how to's and followed their instructions. Now I'm wondering why the fp comes on without the...
I have a 92 sc400 and I'm recently having a problem getting it to start. I notice that when I insert the key I can't hear the fuel pump running so I decided to try the fule ecu bypass. After completing that the fuel pump fires right up without having the key inserted and the only way I can shut...
I thought if i heard a clicking sound that it was a problem with the starter. When i try to start it sounds like it's going to start but it doesn't actually fire up
would this likely be a fuel pressure problem or an electrical problem?
if electrical is the likely culprit a grounded wire, bad sensor or a bad engine ecu
if it's the ecu is there a diy test for the ecu or do I just need to replace it and see what happens?
futher detail on my observation. When I disconnect the battery or remove the relay to reset the fuel pump does not come again until I turn the ignition on but when I turn it off the fuel pump continues to run until I disconnect the battery or remove the relay. I don't think this is how it's...
My 92 SC400 won't start so in my never ending quest to solve this puzzle I decided to check out the fuel system. I don't yet have a gage to measure to the pressure so I thought I would start with the pump and fuel ecu. First I turned the ignition on to see if I could hear the pump come on and I...
thanks for the info on the sensor. I found that one and it tested okay per the fsm. My car does not have an after market alarm. It just h as the one from the factory and if I remember correctly when that one trips I get no power at all. The car won't even crank. I found that out the hard way...
it's a digital meter and reads zero when I test the 2 leads together. My car is a 92 sc400.
In following procedures in the fsm I tested the coils the cam sensors and the engine speed sensor. all tested with in spec'd tolerance. I also did the spark test and saw no sparks when cranking the...
I pulled both ignition coils to test them because my car doesn't seem to be getting any spark
I checked the voltage coming into both coils with ignition in the on position and got about 11.5 volts on both sides.
Next I checked the primary and secondary on both coils. the results were the same...
I have a 92 sc400 and recently it died on me and I was not able to get it restarted. The engine does crank but it doesn't seem to be getting any fire. After doing some reseach on this sight I decided to check the fuel ecu but it seems to be working fine. After doing more research I started...
