Hi.
I stem cleaned my 92 LS400 yesterday night.
This morning. I started my car up. No problem. However. On idle.
On noticed that the engine was was hiccuping. Also. When I drive it.
It hesitates really bad.
I checked the plugs. The drivers side bank had a couple of the plugs wet with water...
Hey Guys,
Merry Christmas to all.
Thanks for all the input, and discussion regarding my problem.
As cjsupra90 suggested, I managed to pull the wiring harness through the firewall into the engine compartment. I cut open the plastic coverings exposing all the wires on the harness.
What do I test...
Guys.
Please bear with me. I'll try to do a better job of explaining things.
Here is my situation. I live in a remote area of New Mexico. So remote,
that not even space aliens want to visit.
The nearest place I could find a professional to do the work is at least 50mi away.
So. I have no choice...
I checked the MAF connector where the Blue/Red wire leads, both with the key on/off. It's always ground.
No 5V.
The resistance to ground on the Blue/Red wire with the ignition off is 124.2 OHMS.
The resistance to ground on the Blue/Red wire with the ignition on is -122.3 OHMS.
My...
I didn't check that.
I'm a novice at the electrical stuff. And. To be completely honest.
If it wasn't for the good people like you on this forum.
I would be completely in the dark.
So. I should check for resistance between the blue/red and brown ground wire ??
I used the incorrect verbiage to describe my findings after the ECU was unplugged.
By negative. I meant, that there was nothing measurable, ground, or otherwise on the MAF connector, after the ECU was unplugged. So. In essence. Yes. The ground went away once the ECU was unplugged.
Hi All.
Opened up the wiring harness. It has been butchered to high hell.
Splices going everywhere. And. Some wires are cut, and, go now where.
I might as well go out and find another wiring harness.
How difficult is it to install.
Hi All.
What I found out today is, the incorrect ECU is in the vehicle.
I called the Dealership, and based on my VIN# the correct ECU that should be in the car is 89661-50032.
What I have in there now is 89661-5042.
Going to find an ECU that fits my car. Not sure if this will solve the...
I checked all blue/red wire inside the vehicle. No short to be found inside the passenger cabin. Only when the blue/red wire
emerges from at the firewall is it shorted.
One question.
How do I determine if the 5V output coming from the ECU is fried.
However. I'm going to follow your suggestion.
Not sure if this makes a difference in understanding my problem. But. The previous owner removed the Traktion control box from under the hood. I compared with another of the same vehicle year/model. And. Noticed the Traktion control box under the hood on the drivers side.
The loom looks like it could be damaged in a few placed inside the engine near the fire wall. How would I spot the problem. What should I look out for.
Many thanks.
Hi Pewee.
You are right. I'm wrong. The pins from the MAF go to the 22 pin plugA
of the ECU.
What just chaps me is that. Pin 11 on the 22pin ECU connector is labeled as VC in the diagram that you provided. The color is red/blue. However. At the MAF connector end.
It gives me ground.
I'm...
