Looking for some advice - Jaguar M112 to '93 1UZ-FE

The problem I have found with the standard ecu is the rev limiter is to harsh cutting the motor off and on, thus creating so much backlash in the blower belt it throws it off. I did quite a few runs and after about a minute of sitting on the limiter it also starts to knock. Other than that I...

Looking for some advice - Jaguar M112 to '93 1UZ-FE

Still running the factory ecu and hoping to keep it this way, as I mentioned before I will be skidding the car in two days from now so that will be the test. I am doing this for where I live dyno's are just not practical and I love the ability to check codes. The charger sits high because I have...

Looking for some advice - Jaguar M112 to '93 1UZ-FE

Here is a quick vid of my setup, hope it helps. Keep in mind this is my first ever attempt at something like this and I am quite happy with the result. The M90 was $400 brand new off ebay. Manifold somewhere around $600 to $700 and the ally top plate $150 + $100 for water cutting. This weekend...

Looking for some advice - Jaguar M112 to '93 1UZ-FE

Because I had an M90 Gen111 which is wider than the Elate manifold I had to make my own top plate. Easy enough as it was just 20mm ally plate water cut. It suited me as I wanted a little extra height, I also have a 25mm phenolic spacer under the charger to stop heat soak. I will see if I can...

Looking for some advice - Jaguar M112 to '93 1UZ-FE

Here is a friend of mine in his 1uz centura. Here it has the 112 on a bullet manifold running 9lb boost, no intercooler still skidding the same motor 5 years later and probably done more skids than any other car in the country. Road registered and also competes in the street machine drag...

    Oil viscosity

That's crazy, I am not that far from you and (June-November) is our dry season. Our wet season is (November-April). No motorsports here until a test and tune day on the 2nd of April, if it does not rain.

    Code confusion

Strange thing is I checked the fuel filter and it was clogged with particles of foam from the fuel cell. The foam is breaking down. I cleaned everything, put in fresh fuel, reset the ecu and run the car for 20 minutes giving it a good run hitting the limiter. Code 78 did not come up again, but...

    Code confusion

My 1uz Hilux has thrown up a code or two. I am not sure if it is two codes 7 and 8, or one code 78. I have multiple code lists, some list 7/8 as TPS and IAT sensors. But other code lists do not start until code 12 which would make it 78 which is fuel pump control. Any idea?

    Oil viscosity

I just had a look at a couple of your old posts, and was surprised to see you are in Thailand and your 1uz is in a boat. Awesome stuff, makes life interesting.

    Oil viscosity

After talking to a couple of performance engine builders I am going to give some 20 W 50 a go.

    Oil viscosity

Just been searching old threads on oil weights and come across this post. I also have a high mileage forced induction engine, as this post is 5 years old I would be very interested to hear what others think.

    No boost

I figured out what is happening, I disconnected the water injection and run the car again this time the supercharger just got warm. The water tank is in the cab between the seats and when it is full the water level is just below the injector nozzle. When the car is idling it is in vacuum which...

    No boost

So today I run the car for about an hour on idle, and revved the shit out of it for a while setting the water injection to come in at 3psi, half of its 6psi boost. I wanted to check temps , belt/pulleys and pressures etc. so I really gave it a workout. Now when I switched the engine off I put...

    No boost

More than good mate! Supercharger stays cold, has a nice whine on full throttle, and you can see in the vid the actuator working. With no bypass operating the supercharger was getting hot instantly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHh_BX8abx0
