1UZ putting out 480Hp at 11,000RPM with 4 barrell carb

Here are some videos of the first time we ran the 1UZ in my old car a couple of years ago. With the first set of cams, 1 7/8" (48mm?) primaries running into 3" flowmasters http://www.geocities.com/stockcar53a/ or...

1UZ putting out 480Hp at 11,000RPM with 4 barrell carb

Sorry have been so busy (which is why there have been a lack of posts). I have a new set of billet cams from Kelfords to try in the engine for this coming season http://www.kelford.co.nz/ I think they are the 207-E grind from memory. I thought about running the 207-G grind but I don't want...

    Pics of snapped rod

Hey Dude, With that Chev Rod, did you have to have it machined to fit? Does it work with the standard piston to get the same deck height or have you also had to buy some after market pistons? I can only run a maximum of 10:1 compression. Cheers -Phil

    1UZFE + carburator = ?

Yeah it sure sounded different! The first engine (pictured on the web site) had around 350hp with ported heads and higher lift cams. Unfortunatly I bent the crank in that engine, because of a small crack in one of the heads. The second engine was completely std and would have had less than...

    1UZFE + carburator = ?

I run an electromotive HPX unit on my stockcar with a 600cfm Holley. http://www.electromotive-inc.com I replaced the standard crank trigger wheel with the HPX 3.5" wheel and mounted the HPX trigger in the same mount as the original Toyota. I had a set of leads made with run to the rear of...

    REV Limit of bottom end

Yeah I had a rod let go @ around 7800rpm. It was a dead stock standard crown bottom end, and I have only managed to save 2 pistons. All the others were damaged by bits of rod hurtling around the block

    Pics of snapped rod

Well if I use a std one again it won't be over 7500 thats for real. Unfortunatly we knew we had to push the engine as hard as what we did because I am up against 400+hp engines. ...but it still performed really well for what it was.

    maximum rpm on 1UZ?

While I sure you can wind the engines out a long way the problem is the camshafts. They are not designed to be used over 8000. I was finding in my race car that the engine was not really pulling past 6800, but it will sit rev higher, just not really produce power. With different cams it is a...

    Crower Rods

Yup I just threw number 2 rod out the side of the block tonight. Pulling 7800+ rpm on stock internals. I had a funny feeling that something was going to happen as the car just didn't feel right. Not sure however if the rod snapped or if the rod bolts let go. Hopefully I'll get some pics of...

First Race Night and Stuff the Engine

Hey deankdx, Nope there are a couple of places in NZ where you can buy these manifolds. From memory they start from around $900NZD. The std ecu went in the rubbish as did the entire engine loom. I run the HPX Coil system from electromotive-inc. The whole system just has 3 wires, has...

What does the 1UZ block look like without the water pump

Hey Nath, Instead of running a Dizzy have you thought about running one of these? http://www.electromotive-inc.com/products/xdi.html I am running one of these HPX coil systems in my stockcar and it is brilliant. 3 wires, heaps of control over the timing curve and they come with plently...

First Race Night and Stuff the Engine

Well it has rained pretty much each weekend since the opening night so my car has sat in the shed ever since we put the std engine in. Last friday however I did manage to get a run at another track. But I took my brothers car as it was already loaded in the truck and I couldn't be bothered...
