I swapped clusters today and I found the tachometer in the speedo cluster is bad and displaying the wrong rpm's. I still have a misfire though... arrgg.

So you think its the tachometer itself in the guage cluster messing up? And you don't think the tach signal comes from the ignition coils?

I have a 94 Sc400 and the tachometer on the guage cluster isn't receiving the correct tach signal. So basically when I'm at idle (700 rpms) my tach on the guage cluster says in between 250-500 rpms. So I'm trying to trace it to where the problem is coming from. Thats why I am trying to figure...

If the timing belt slipped and was off a few teeth could that cause a low idle and or a misfire? I had the power steering leak already about a year or so ago. Well I checked to make sure they were all firing by pulling each plug wire one by one. Each time I disconnected a plug wire from the cap you could tell the difference. So that leaves me to believe I'm running on all 8 cylinders. I wish I had a check engine light. No lights just a very low idle...

According to the factory service manual the injectors are supposed to ohm in between 13.4 and 14.2 ohms. The first two injectors I have ohmed are showing 14.8 ohms? Is that too far out from spec? The injectors have 200,000 miles on them. Thanks

Alright. Traction control is nice to have when its raining out: ) But if you don't have traction control on yours this wouldn't work for you anyway. I'm just looking to get rid of it. Its just sitting in a box.

I have a used throttle body for the 1UZFE with Traction Control if you are interested. That would be a better fix.

I ohmed all the plug wires and found them within spec. I left off all the timing belt covers and I didn't see anything arcing. I don't have a timing light so I guess I'll be pulling each wire one by one to see if there's any problems. I guess if I can pin point it to one cylinder it might be...
