cam timing is fine, reset ecu again and checked all connections, still doing it :confused:

Also... when i fired it up the first time, the LH coil was unplugged. It ran arcing this coil to the nearest ground for about 10 seconds (impressive arc btw! prob more than an inch). This can damage coils correct?

Car was running mint before the cambelt job... I re-checked cam timing after installing the tensioner a couple of times, but not since it's been running... will do that. The rotors/caps/leads are a few years old at least, i've never done them. Plugs are fairly new, platinum. Wondering if...

Great swap, well done. Like stevechumo said, give your 5spd trans a couple of mods to make it shift harder (also protects the clutches). It'll make a night and day difference - esp if you've already got a beefy torque converter. Check this thread for a dirt cheap mod for the a340 1-2 and 2-3...

I remember hearing about Jun in japan doing a 1uz with some 20v 4age heads, so i guess the chambers lined up ok. There would still have been some big work involved in re-locating the cam gears though. A blacktop 20v head/intake is about as good as they get. For the time/effort involved though...

Glad you got it sussed. For anyone else looking, fuel o-rings are very commonly used in marine applications also. If you have a decent marine workshop around (mercury, evinrude, yamaha etc), go raid their O-ring stash :)

ten points for originality and build quality (suspension - wow)... but i dont get the reasons for some parts of that build... That engine plus the front driveline would have made that supra pretty nose heavy, it will already be more inclined to understeer with awd, plus more weight forward...
