Yes title says it all it's a 1994 Toyota Pickup 2wd with the infamous 1uzfe 4.0 V8 swap and man does it haul a$$!!!!!!!!!!! this truck is too fast and well sadly I have no money or time to continue this project. It is running and driving come test drive it or request a video of me driving it. So...
I bought my engine with everything I needed and a "tuned ecu" has stickers labeled "void if removed" in green tape on each corner. Dont know who did it or where but ill find out.
First off I didnt have a neutral safety switch on the tranny it was missing,.......fuel pump ecu was wired backwards, no cats on the exhaust, no filter on maf ( whod thought a filter would affect it that much) and igniters not grounded.
Thanks to NTO motorsports this truck is running, they are the 1uz gurrus!!! It litterally took them 5 minutes to find the many problems it had and fixed...
Ok today I just got to the shop and 5 volts dead on at blue-red wire and 10 volts at red wire so im assuming ecm is ok. next im going to pick up a crank sensor see if that does the job and i guess i need some more suggestions. thanks everyone for replies.
I am so pissed the motor sounded great the swap was done it didnt overheat and wierdness.....its too wierd of a possibility both igniters diedout or coils died so I'm assuming sensor or electrical.......im 99 percent sure its not the motor.... how do I check to see the ecu is still alive and...
Hey guys got the same issue my 1994 pickup ran perfectly fine then I tried to drive it and kaput.........nothing it stalled and same smoke from the intake, I never opened the motor up and never smoked at all,.....getting fuel just no spark and checked for Ignitonsand got them in all places...
Have you tried to see if you maybe put the intake manifold gasket on wrong or might be split in one area which causes a reaction like the one you are having.....could be?
damn I guess I'll join the problem crew because I have the same issue, at a stand still I can rev freely and very nice but I have a stock sc400 ecu with trans in a 94 toyota pickup mini and once I drove it today it boggs like hell if I gas it hard I'm leaning toward my fuel pump isnt working...
