wont start on first try

this seems to be a odd issue, but i just swapped in my 1uz into my mkiii supra. as of right now its missing all the o2 sensors and there is no maft plugged in. The problem i'm having is the motor doesnt start on the first try. what it seems to do is the first 1-3 starts it will start then die. then the 4rth start it will run but it will be idling rough (idling up and down). then on the 5th try i can shut it off and restart it and it idles perfect. what can cause this? is it because i dont have a maft installed?

y isnt maf installed
i dont know y people try torun it without the most important thing and expect it to run

there is prob no explaination y it does what yr expalining maybe ecu is trying to work around having no maf and after 5 goes its into limp mode and just runs smooth

but dont expect miracles when half the **** aint there
the air flow is the most important thing which controls idle and fuel delivery
so hook it up then come back if u have more problems

theres alot of air flow meter problems lately
ive got 2 here im going to pull apart to see why they fail
