w57 vs g52

Hi everyone, Would a w57 Gbox hold up well behind a stock 1uz? Wat sort of strength does it have over a G52? Any info would be appreciated,

I have a W58 on my supra with a 1uz, its fine, in the past i had a turbo supra make around 450hp with a W58 and it took all the abuse. they are stronger then people give them credit for. i dont know the diffrence between the W58 and W57 and ive never heard of a G52.

W57 will be fine as long as you drive it with some mechanical sympathy, and don't put an unsprung 3 puck clutch disc on there. You want a clutch that will slip a little bit when engaging. Its mainly the shock load of a sprited launch/gear change that will kill the W series boxes.

AFAIK the G series boxes are just commercial ratio versions of the W series.
They normally have different rear housings/shifter positions and are not able to be directly swapped (as they won't fit with mounts and shifter hole)

I am putting a 1uz into my Hilux (ln85).
Would the G series box Handle the pace? With being sympathetic to it? I will be running a standard hilux clutch plate with a 40% harder 3sgte pressure plate.

Is it worth switching to w series now?

I doubt there is any internal difference in regards to strength.
