Strut Bar Cushion

I have a 99 Lexus 400 and I have the problem where when you go over a
small pot hole or a bump, there is that THUD as though the front
suspension has no shock action - otherwise the car rides well and the
shock action is as expected. I see that you had posted a solution for
this issue - changing the Strut Bar Cushion. The discussion and pictures
posted were for a first gen Lexus LS.
Question: Does the 99 LS 400 also have a strut bar cushion and are the steps to change it similar to the once that were posted?

I also get rattles in the steering when I go over bad cracked pavement -
is this also due to the strut bar cushion?

Actually, not all aftermarket car stuffs are bad, although some are real bad. That depends on your use. On some parts, aftermarket parts are a lot better when they fit your use. Factory parts might not be up to the tasks. I'm not talking about saving here.
