STRONGER WASTEGATE SPRING OR BOOST CONTROLLER

I'm currently using the 8 psi wastegate spring for the HKS style 50mm wastegate (Used in U.S. but designed and made in China...LOL). It's advertised at 8 psi but I only see 6 psi. I wanted to increase the boost so I also have the 14 psi spring to make 12 psi. Pressure loss will be there. I'm wondering if I should replace to this 14 psi spring or should I install the boost controller and keep the 8 psi spring. Will this keep the wastegate lasting longer due to the lighter spring (8 psi) or what are the pros and cons?

I always prefer to keep the lighter springs then run a boost controler as this gives you the ability to turn the boost down on wet days etc. Cheers

Boost controller... at 6 psi you can always go up, but if you a a bar spring, then you can only go from 14.7 psi and up. Its better to use a boost controller. Another nice thing about boost controller is that you dont have to open up the wastegate to get more boost.
