shifter swap?

alright, i know this is one of those stupid waste of energy things, but i will ask anyway...
i dislike the shifter in the pre-95 ls400, the 95+ is much nicer, and by looking at what picyures i can find, it looks like it would be possible to put a 95+ shifter in an older model, granted there will be some minor adjustments to be made, but it looks like it might fit, the only issue then would be wiring for the J-gate, lighting, and number of gears?
or wait...it was still a 4-spd until 2000 right?

anyone want to take some measurements for me? on a pre-95 and post 95? i just want to know thw dimension on the inner and out trim bezels...

If you want to install that shifter to make it looks better. And you want it to be direct swap. I think its impossible… ​

nothing is direct.... when it comes to swapping everything is difficult,
i have done way more compex things to cars, a shift does not scare me.
i appreciate your input.
