On the pic below are the vacum hose connections on the power steering pump (above alternator) for the idle up? and also where should the vacum hoses run too?

Do you need to have a idle up connected for power steer or will it be fine without? Thanks

There are two vacuum lines run to it. In the orginal form. One of the lines get the signal right after the MAF and share it with the ISC. The second get it from the intake. I take both of them out. No problem running without vacuum lines.

not too supprised to see a thread on this, as i didn't even know what it was.

the car i have has had a leak for a while and after changing both high an low pressure hoses and washing affected area(to stop smoke from oil from exhaust manifolds continuing) i still have a leak, i suspected it to be this plastic thingo but i'm 90% sure it my box so i'll change that first, can these idle up things leak? if so should i buy another or block it up with a bolt(need reliability) if they are known to leak i may get another or bolt to chuck in roadside repair box for long trips,
ANY COMMENTS?
