Hello to all.
What i am after is an engine to sit on a hilux gearbox, I have at present a 3.9 LRV8 sat in the workshop, but have found that the 1UZ-FE is a very good engine for a conversion.
Before i buy an adapter for the LR engine i was wondering what is involved with putting the lexus lump in.
I did have a 4.4 BMW sat in the front (it is a frontera by the way) but could not find a transmission to sit on it.
So I bought a hilux gearbox with the intentions of putting the 3.9 on it.
Then trawling through the net found a couple of people who have put the lexus motor into a few different things.
The adapter plates are available and the rest of the mounting is pretty straightforward. (sat on solid axles so I have no problem with sump clearance or anything like that).
I think my main concern is the immobiliser system, and from what year did they start putting the immobilisers on UK LS400's.
