When I shift from Neutral to Drive my autobox (341E) is very rough and engages with a jolt. But from Neutral to Reverse is smooth.

Once I'm in drive the gearchanges are smooth.

The box is not controlled by the standard controller so its not a wiring issue. One tranny shop is of the opinion it may be a broken accumulator spring.

Any ideas where i should be looking?

yes, all four are wired. I had originally thought it was the pressure solenoid that was faulty but shifts through the gears once in Drive are smooth....

bump...

Anyone?

what is controlling the auto if std ecu is not there
how can it not be the wiring

u removed std ecu and i guess u wired up an aftermarket ecu
well its the bloody wiring or the tune in the aftermarket ecu for the auto

if u hve an aftermarket ecu for the auto i would go thru it
have u got all the inhibitor signals going to the ecu correctly
u have given us very little info so that is probab ly why nop one has bothered to help

drive is a gear selected electronically
reverse is selected hydraulically

so maybe look at that
more people in the world know alot bout engines when compared to autos
which are very limited so best of spendng money and taking it to an auto guy

if the auto is std then it must be in the electrics
