So I have this connection with my 1uz, it sorta tells me when something is going to break juuuuuust before I start long trips. 8hrs before I left for Colorado I went to the store for supplies and my alternator went out. Second time my tire blewout 2 miles out of the garage. And yesterday I packed my car up for the drive and at 2am I backed down the drive way and my power steering pump blew on me. I spent the whole morning in the dark swapping over from my 4.7L. All this time these things break a matter of hours before I start/end my 18hr drive. Coming home my HG blew only 25 miles from my house after completing 1400miles! 1uz's definently let us know whats up.

I'm quite sorry to hear about your troubles. Hopefully the car isn't cursed. I had a Cressida that was cursed - nothing but bad things happened to me in that car, and things just kept failing, and the Supra I bought to replace it was completely trouble-free. Cars are funny that way.

ask anyone who has ever owned a burgundy MK3 supra, they will tell you all about the curse

oops, these were isolated events. I had an early warning everytime before I leave to/from california. I go to school 1500miles away from my hometown so I do this commute a few times a year. The HG incident was manageable but would fill the cabin with white smoke over 3000rpm. Right now I'm driving a $1000 1991 LS400 and I just drive it lol. I put a LOT of abuse on my 2 LS400's and they always pull through a long ride. Believe it or not in the last 6years I have never been stranded because of a complete failure (alternator, starter excluding) and it's always on a 1uz with over 200,000 miles. I think i'll always be faithful to the UZ family. I just hope I can find a cheap SC400 shell so I can swap this trans/engine. Been behind the wheel of an LS for a looong time.

Ah yes pres6. I too had a cursed burgundy 86.5 n/a supra. Thing was a shit hole.
