Hydraulic Fan Pump - Redeployment for PS

thanks again 1ndecent, I have removed PS pump and begun conversion, I am going to have the belt go around the alternator, across the crank pulley inside the hydraulic pump, around the top idler across the top of the tensioner and around the alternator (start) so it should get good contact, and only need a small belt... it should be quite small and hopefully generate more power than stock..

I have a 1995 with all the plastic on top....

Any chance anyone has tried just doing the electronic fix as mentioned on toymods????

I would rather try it as it sounds faster and easier...

I wired a car that was setup like this on the weekend but instead of modifing the pump I used a jaycar motor speed control kit on the solenoid. Changed a capacitor in it to drop the frequency to about 100hz and all was good.

Just wound it up until the steering felt good. For anyone that had too much spare time it could be made speed sensive as well.

Is there enough wrap around this crank? or is it going to slip?how would one reverse the idler pully as in pic one back in the thread?
