How to make 450 - 500 hp on 1UZ ??

toyota stopped to sell supercharger kits for the Tundra because some engines could not handle the additionnal power.

since the blower gives about 30-35% more HP, that would mean your UZ cannot handle really more than 350-380HP.

I thought that was due to the anemic rods of the 2uz

yes, it's the main reason, the engine cannot handle the power.

2UZ and 3UZ uses the same rods.

My 1UZ makes 430fwhp with M90 on 10lb boost. Stock rods since 2002. An M112 will give 500hp plus , the rods would be OK with ARP bolts But forged H beams would be better if you can spare the $$$.

Yes the rods could be an issue in the post 98 1uz, I'm glad I lucked up with a 98 which had the thcker rods. That last rod is a beast, driving a car that actuallytook advantage of the extra strength would be a bit too much for me. Heck 500 hp is pushing it for me.:Eyecrazy:
