Diff Gears Question.

Hello everyone, i am needing a little help. i want a bit more torque out of my car. i have a 1uz running toyota crown auto, Shift kitted, full manual, 2800 stall but it still seems a little sluggish. it is all in a 2wd hilux extra cab currently running 3.55 gears i believe. would it benifit from a diff gear ratio change do you think. P.S engine is running well it's not sluggish. i just want a bit more poke. any suggestions...

P.S i have fixed the exhaust leak now too. hahah

A higher number gear will make it faster off the line but will bring your top speed down a little as a trade-off.

thanks mate, i'm not too worried about top speed as long as it doesnt top out before the end of the quarter mile. what ratio ya recon

I tend to play with gear ratios for crawling over rocks and such so take my answer with a grain of salt. But I think that in the ballpark of 4.10 is pretty common for the strip.

i can get a hold of 4.11s but was worried of the big jump.

hi there mate i have a 2wd withthe lexus in it and i am running a 4.1 and its greatif you are after a lot off the line .i ruun at 2700rpm at 100k what rpm are you at 100ks with the 3.5
