Best Gearbox

Hi All
Looking to change the 1UZ-FE automatic gearbox, don't want to go manual so what is there to use.
Would like 6 gears and run it from a paddle shift.
Is there a ecu that would control 6 speeds as a standalone.

Hi All
Since my first post I have been looking for a 6 or 7 speed gearbox to do onto the 1UZ-FE engine. I have a chance to get a Mercedes W221 S-class S350 7 Speed Automatic Tiptronic Gearbox with ecu and as much wiring as I need.
Anybody put a Mercedes box on a 1UZ-FE yet, could be a cool conversion

Alan, I don't know that many have done A/T swaps, but the Merc box sounds interesting. Is that a true automatic transmission, or an automated manual?

If you don't need the lightning fast shifting of an automated manual, a Corvette A/T transaxle might be interesting and certainly would be cheap. And I doubt you could break it, even with the TT UZ.
