alloy sump welding??

is the upper alloy sump weldable with a tig or not?
i'm having a lot of trouble finding a rear sump, and was thinking of gettting one made out of the front sump, so i just need to knoe if it can be welded or if it is a mix of alloys?

It's not a problem to weld, both TIG and MIG works fine.
Just remember to clean the sump thoroughly.

sorry..i dont follow..the sump cant be just turned around surely the bolt holes dont line up??..i know you have done it,so it can be done..but please elaborate for a tired londoner (abit sick of working on this engine transplant, still almost got 2 headers made up today)
