I have a 1991 ls400. No mods, just stock.
just started up my car and for some reason my coolant level light, brake light, oil level light, and voltage light are all on. The car starts up and runs fine but the lights stay on. any ideas? thanks

Thanks guys, its the alty. I didnt think so at first because my car, the subs, everything was good for like a whole day. And then i guess it let go. It ended up being the classic power steering pump leak altimatly causeing the altenator to fail. thanks

Scott,

We are glad you found your problem. PS fluid is a very common problem with alternator failure. If toyota made a shield for it, the this will save lots of alternator.

David,

I've come across a shield for the alternator on the Net. Don't ask where but a search may bring it to the surface.

The shield only reduces the cosequences when the real answer is to keep an eye on the p/s pump and fix at the first sign of a leak.
