90+ LS400 and SC400 had the 200kw 357NM 1UZFE
98-99 Celsior had the VVT 210kW 400NM 1UZFE

I am considering doing a conversion at a later date and im in the research phase.

What ever engine i choice i will be running a manual behind it and as such i will most likely use a aftermarket management system....

Now im just wondering if the 98-99 Celsior (400NM) engine will be easy enough to wire up with an aftermarket computer? Is there an engine in particular i need to get ? Anything i should be aware of ??

i realise the LS and SC had 10.0:1 ratio and the celsior had 10.4:1 (something like that, cant remember exactly)...

Whats the going price in AUS for a Celsior motor ?

Come on, can someone please give me the pro's and con's of each engine...

1)which would be better in NA form
2)which would be better in turbo form (assuming you decompression it to say 8.5:1)

Please someone ???
Anyone

Depends, going all out NA, maybe the non-vvti would be better.
I'm not sure how well vvti works with large cams.

Forced induction, just use the cheapest motor u can find, and put some boost through it.

A vvti will cost about $3000AUD with no ecu.
A non-vvti will cost about $1200 with no ecu.

And ecu for vvti would most likely be the MoTeC @ $3000.
I'm not sure if the Autronic can fully control vvti yet.
It couldnt a year ago, but it was in the process of design.

An ecu for non-vvti can be had for just over $1000 (link, wolf, microtech).

Guys,
i just bought a vvti from adelaide *** for $1800.
i am told that because mines going in a boat i can run a $1100 microtech unit with out any dramas.
the research i did seem to indicate that the vvti operates on rpm and is hydralicaly controlled. the honda v-tech requires electric controls.
there is a good site on the net explaining the differances between them.
But i am not 100% on the above. for the 1uz fe's.
i will be able to let you know later in the year.
