I want to use the stock gauges on my 88 MK3 swap. What do I need to do to convert the 1uz to read on the 6cyl tach?

Im not interested in those $50+ units... I know its a few small circuits to do this.

Any guidance?

50 bucks everyone is a tight ass hehheeheheh
you dont even get a blowie for 50 bucks these days heheheheheh

u need to amplify the signal
and also change it from 4 to 6

u can look at changing the resistors in the back of the tacho
maybe speak to someone who is into surface mount electronics
i cant be stuffed pulling them apart
i just fit my signal multiplier with inbuilt booster and all is good
but if u have time start desoldering and soldering new resistors

anyway boostiing the signal is piss easy
changing it from 4 to 6 might be a hassle
some toyota tachos have a trim pot inside the back
so pull it apart and see

first get tacho working then worry bout accuracy later

Search around on here (when the search function is working). There use to be a write-up on using an early generation Celica tach module that is a direct fit on the back of our tach, just requires pulling the gauge cluster, removing the Supra tach module on the back of the tach and replacing it with the Celica module.

Thanks for the different options!

Do you know HOW early of a generation? 7 celica gens total, lol.

I am going to assume 4th gen or 5th gen (90-93), right about the same years.
