My car has a severe vibration problem, simply put when I drive along starting in first gear its fine shift to 2nd it vibrates mildly at about 3000rpm shift to 3rd vibe comes in at same rev and mild, shift to 4th get to 3000 or there abouts vibration starts and gets pretty bad to about 4500 shift...

Wasnt some company over east making a conversion setup to bolt the holden IRS from late model commodores into the old 1 tonner, sure I read about it in Street Machine mag. I,ll go dig out my old mags and have a look see :)

A lot of guys who were in the know said the same thing to me, shame they were all wrong and the motor lasted a week. Oh and it was tuned right, from my experiance you cant make 400 RWHP and expect it to last long. Better to be safe than sorry I beleive, either keep the boost down below 8psi or...

I welded a small block of aluminium to the rear bridge between the heads then drilled and tapped it, and used the 2 coolant drains on either side of the block for the return lines.

Reason for Delco was simply to save money as it was already in the car running the 355 stroker. The Guy(Allan Gibbs) who I bought the Kalmaker(modified Delco 808) from was very keen to prove the Delco could run the 1UZ so he has done the 2 tunes for me free of charge...

One bit of advice I can give you is, make sure you talk to someone that really knows turbo's, mainly surge areas. As I have just been through this and if you get it wrong it will end up costing more money than it should. Have sorted my compressor surge problem by replacing the cannisters with...

LoL thats Saf alright, not shy about speaking his mind at all. One of the smartest car guys I have ever met. Car is going well, but soon to change the exhaust housings on the turbos to a bigger A/R, should help with the compressor surge as well as move the boost up the rev range.

When we were first discussing the idea of the 1UZ conversion he told me about yours and a little later we found a feature on yours which really got me interested :)
