Hi all, I have looked to see if this has been discussed before, but can't find the thread if it has! I have a 1993 Lexus complete car and wanted to fit the engine into my 1993 Hilux RN106, having read lots of threads, I am going to keep the origonal auto box, but fit a transfer box from an auto Surf. My question is: If I was to fit the Lexus dash, engine (1uz) and gearbox, into my Hilux, would it pay me to rip out the origonal wiring loom, and fit the Lexus one in its entirety into the Hilux?

I think that you would creat more problems by swapping the dash. It hilux dash can work perfectly well with the lexus motor. I would swap motor and box with the motor/box loom only and wire from there. This is how we always do this swap. Cheers

hope u have about 50 cases of burbon and afew note pads

unles su have a workshop manual for the ls400 u will take i think about 2 years

just beware with surf transfer cases

i know some of them are electrnoc 4wd select

ive been thru this afe witmes and a surf is a headfuk to do

surf auto and transfer are electronic and have there own auto/4wd ecu

trying to get this to work with 1uz ecu will not work at moment
or i havnt had time to test and get them to work

so using a 1uz auto will work but the transfer might not

u need a manual transfer so maybe an early surf might be manual not sure

99% of people overcomplicate conversions
 
The little motor on the back of the transfercase on my surf isnt getting power. anyone know where its ment to come from? where can i find a wiring diagram?
