Which Trans?

It looks like everyone is trying to use a 154 tranny out of a Tubro Supra.

Since a different bellhousing has to be used, how well would a T5 trans out of a Mustang work? I was thinking that since it would be out of a 302 V8 it should hold up ok. If it isnt strong enought should it be upgraded to a world class or a TKO?
I saw a few posts on this but nothing was resolved.

What are you going to bolt up the tranny to.SC,LS?

The T5, TKO or T56 would work but you need special adaptor plate. You can get a 1uzfe/GM adaptor plate from Australia. I forgot what company makes them. You need to change our the bellhousing from Ford to GM. This combo will be alot cheaper then the supra 6 speed and alot stronger too. For the similar price as the supra 6 speeed you can get almost double the torque rating.

Im just looking at a v8 engine swap into a toyota truck.

I have seen the web pages from dellows or crs that will alow you to swap a 1uzfe to a ford or chevy manual trans.

Since their are so many older ford mustangs in the junk yards a t5 would be easy to get and cheap.

No offence to the T5,they are not up to big HP...anything over 350 -400 rwhp and ..well get another one..lol
