I know the water temp sensor of the SC400 is located at the bottom of the radiator on the driver side. I think the Soarer has the same location.

you mean the dashgauge sensor? or the ECU's one.

I all of a sudden can't remember if i took the ecu sensor out of my engine, and if so from which of the thousand holes?

for the gauge, as i have put a 1uz into my toyota surf and want to hook up a water temp gauge to it

It's on the top front water bridge. The sender without a green or brown plastic plug.

its about 2 inches back and left of the drivers side ignition coil

has small spade terminal with yellow green wire

or a round black plug on later 1uzs

the sender in the bottom of radiator is for hydraulic fan ecu

has nothing to do with temp gauge

Due to the diagram that I have, the hydraulic sensor ECU is right at the hydraulic pump. I'll try to find the diagram and post it up later.

never seen them at hydraulic pump

only thing u have at hydraulic pump is the 2 wires to trigger the solenoid


they are usually ablack wire and a blue/yellow wire

or sometimes pink and a pink/blue i think

but for water temp they are always close to drivers side front near the coil



u cant miss it

u dont even need diagrams for that

just find the sensor unplug it then buzz it to the inside with a multimeter

first remove the front plastic cover over the leads thats infront of inlet manifold and u can see it easy on drivers side
